Narrative setting

Hey readers for the last few weeks in writing we have been doing writing about the setting in our stories. These are the things we did. 1. choose out of 4 pictures- 2. make a plan using the these senses sight,smell,hearing,touch and emotion- 3. make a collaborative plan-  4. write 5 descriptive paragraphs- 5. introduce monsters to story- 6. make different endings- 7. turn work into a pick a path.

A piece of paradise

Hey readers this week for reading we had the same books as last time. I chose "A piece of paradise."

This week for our reading create task we had to read our book, make an animation of it and tell the younger viewer what the moral of the story was

Time for spell

 Hey readers this week for reading we had the same books as last week. I chose time for spell.  The walt was to make predictions from the things we have read. Here is a summary of what happened. Slade started getting messages from alien empire and he thought it was his friend Tyrone so he told his friend to stop. But he still got messages from alien empire then they stopped. Then his cat talked to him in a robot voice.

What's the matter?

Hey readers this week new reading we had new books to choose from I chose "What's the matter?"

We had to make a thing called a comix to show what you thought would happen after the story ended.

This was the walt for this week:  use info in the text to make inferences

This is my recount of the story story:

Dan's father tossed the flyer onto the table.

"Who sends this rubbish?"

Dan read it. "The amazing matter mover! Free trial! Name anything - the matter mover makes it appear!"

He said nothing, but on the way to school the next morning, he posted a letter with the flyer inside.

On saturday morning, Dan's parents were busy in the back garden when Dan heard a van pull into the drive and zoom off. On the porch lay a small parcel with his name on it.

In his bedroom, he pulled off the paper. There sat a little black Cube like a tiny TV.

Another fly lay on top. "The matter mover. Name anything, and the matter mover makes it appear!" Underneath the letters "Test model. No orders over three words. say cancel to remove object."

Dan placed the tiny black cube on the floor.

Should he tell his parents? Nah this was his. He'd keep it forever.

No orders over three words. He took a deep breath, counted inside his head and said "Heaps of ice-cream."

The matter mover glowed for a second. The air around it shimmered.  Then Dan looked and saw lots of ice-cream with no box he said "Cancel!" he kept doing saying cancel each time the matter mover did something wrong. and then his dad came and Dan shouted "Cancel!"

My monster

Hey readers this term for writing we have been doing narrative writing.The walt was we are learning to introduce characters in to the narrative. We have been doing writing based on where the wild things are. We had to make our own monster. This is the steps I did to make my monster.

The mystic king

The Mystic king is the king of all mystic creatures. He is a boy and his name is Bob. Bob has the body of a horse, the wings and fiery stomach of the phoenix, he has the neck of a giraffe and the head of an elephant.

The mystic king lives in the center of the earth. Bob’s favorite food is humans but he can eat everything. He does not need food,water or air at all. If threatened Bob will charge, his wings will start to flap and he will burst into flames and fly towards the one who threatened it.

Since he has a giraffe neck if he flies to his limit his head can go even higher.

The Mystic king is brave, mean, bossy and angry 24/7.

He dislikes everyone and hates the sun and moon.

He is like this because he is jealous of the creatures that live in the sun and live on the moon.

The mystic king was made when a horse, an elephant and a giraffe fell in cracks in the earth after an earthquake, they fell to the center of the earth where a phoenix was forming.If Bob dies he will be reborn in the center of the earth.
